General Practice Lawyer/Paralegal
Lane, Buck & Higgins, Lawyers, is looking to employ a general practice lawyer /paralegal. (Commercial Law, Wills and Administration of Estates, Family Law)
Lane Buck and Higgins is the oldest continuous law firm in Western Australia and has been around over 100 years. We are still here because we care for our clients and provide high quality, value for money services to them.
The role will involve travel between Narrogin and Katanning and both communities offer great access to schools, hospitals and sporting facilities, opportunities to own large country residences, and are the major centres in the Great Southern area. Narrogin is within a short car trip (2 hours or so) of Perth City, the Margaret River Region, and Albany/the south coast. Katanning is a little further from Perth (3 hours in the car) and Albany and the South Coast are within easy reach.
You will occupy positions of responsibility within the firm and be directly responsible to the principal lawyer who has over 30 years’ experience running the firm.
The position is full-time and the successful Applicant will have an active set of files from day one, within a firm that has a good reputation throughout the community that you will work in.
Preference will be given to candidates who desire to continue to develop skills.

Conveyancer
Join the team at Lane Buck & Higgins’ as a Conveyancer. We have offices based in Narrogin and Busselton and you will play a crucial part in the Settlements team, managing the end-to-end conveyancing process for residential, farming and commercial property transactions.
What you’ll be doing
- Providing high-quality conveyancing services to clients, including preparing and reviewing all necessary documentation
- Liaising with clients, real estate agents, lenders and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth settlement process
- Conducting title and property searches, and preparing settlement statements
- Advising clients on their rights and obligations throughout the conveyancing process with support from lawyers within our team
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
- Supporting Solicitors with conveyancing tasks as required
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience as a Conveyancer, ideally with 2+ years’ experience in a similar role, including farm settlements
- Excellent knowledge of conveyancing laws, regulations and best practices
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and stakeholders
- Proficient in using conveyancing software and technology (including PEXA platform)
- A collaborative team player with a strong work ethic
